The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has revealed its movie, TV show, and limited series nominations for the 2020 Golden Globes ceremony. With less than a month to go in 2019, awards and critic organizations are starting to unveil their choices for the very best in film and television this year. The American Film Institute only just announced their top 10 movies of 2019, with films like Joker and The Irishman making the cut. Martin Scorsese’s crime epic was also named the best movie of the year by the National Board of Review a day earlier.

One of the biggest awards shows leading up to the annual Oscars is the Golden Globes, as are overseen by the HFPA near the very beginning of every year. The 77th Annual Golden Globe Awards will take place next month on Sunday, January 5 and feature comedian Ricky Gervais as its host (marking his fifth time running the event overall). Now, with just under four weeks to go before the ceremony, the nominees have been officially announced.

You can read through the full list of 2020 Golden Globes nominees in the space below. Among the major players at the show are Netflix, which racked up multiple nominations in both film (The Irishman, Marriage Story) and television (The Crown). HBO isn’t too far behind in TV, though, with Succession, Game of Thrones, and Big Little Lies all securing big nods. In some way, though, the snubs are more interesting than the mostly-expected nominees, with HBO and Netflix’s critical darlings Watchmen and When They See Us getting ignored, and both Adam Sandler and Robert De Niro failing to secure acting nods for Uncut Gems and The Irishman (despite being heavily favored). And once again, the nominees for director this year are all men, with Bong Joon-ho being the lone non-white filmmaker nominated for Parasite.
