From Levi’s to PUMA, continue reading to find out what some of the biggest eCommerce sites are doing to stay up to date with payment options among other things.

20 of the Biggest eCommerce Sites That Use Afterpay:

How Does Afterpay Work?

Afterpay was founded in Australia in 2015. Fast-forward only seven years and they already have millions of international customers and tens of thousands of merchant partners. Used in Canada, the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom, they’ve helped countless customers to spend responsibly without incurring fees or interest.  In short, when a customer uses Afterpay to pay online (or in store), the payments will get split into four installments. In the event that a customer misses an installment, they won’t be able to use the service till all the payments are up to date again. While users won’t incur interest, late payments will be charged a fixed fee. Not only does it promote (more) responsible spending, but it’s also extremely convenient to use as you’ll be informed right away if you’ve been approved.

Just like Boohoo, Forever 21 also made it to our list of the top 40 online shopping sites to check out in 2022. Their items are trendy and won’t break the bank. What’s more, they also include plus sizes. Though, if your bank balance is a bit on the other end of the spectrum, there’s Afterpay (or Klarna).  To keep up with the evolving times, they’ve also recently piloted a livestream shopping app. During the debut of the app, they connected attendees in Manhattan to one of their stores situated in a luxury shopping center.

8. Topshop

Topshop is one of the most well-known British brands. Included in their product range are shoes, sneakers, and denim pieces. Even though one of their most iconic locations on Oxford Street has closed down recently, their presence is still strong online. According to data shared by Similar Web, they attracted just over 90,000 website visits in January 2022.

9. Marks & Spencer

With more than 1,300 brick-and-mortar stores situated across the world, Marks & Spencer is virtually a household name. For Afterpay payments, the minimum spend is $55 while the account limit is up to $2,000 (twice what most other eCommerce sites offer).

They offer a huge selection of quality kids clothing at an affordable price. While the outfits might be tiny, the market is huge. In 2021, they managed to raise $510 million in funding from Chinese investors to help them expand into South America and the Middle East.  While their brand is expanding to more places, the option to pay with Afterpay is currently only available to Australia. Also, the order may not exceed $500 AUD which is relatively low compared to other online stores.

12. Cotton On

Cotton On is one of the biggest players in the global clothing retail market. Being an Australian company, it generates most of its online net sales in Australia, with the United States coming in only in second spot. According to ecommerceDB, it’s estimated that the brand’s eCommerce net sales for 2021 added up to just shy of $230 million. With regards to its website traffic, Similar Web calculates this at about 8.5 million visits on average for the past three months.  Not only do they have a pretty decent loyalty program, but they also “reward” their customers by offering BNPL options. 13. Levi’s

Just like PUMA and many of the other brands included on our list, Levi’s need no introduction. According to their website, they’re the purest wearable form of authentic self-expression (not even yours truly could’ve put that more eloquently). They’re synonymous with blue jeans.  To give you an idea of just how big this market is, here are some facts and figures:

At the end of 2021, Levi Strauss operated 1,083 retail stores across the world.  Perhaps surprisingly, wholesale sales were more than DTC sales. In 2021, wholesale sales added up to about $3.66 billion (in total, they generated $5.76 billion for that year).  Sales from men’s products accounted for nearly two thirds of the total net sales.  The global denim jeans market is forecasted to be worth about $88 billion by 2027.

Whatever way you look at it, Levi’s is making a lot of money. While it’s more popular among older generations, they also ensure that their payment methods cater towards younger shoppers who are more inclined to opt for BNPL.

Recently, they also opened its virtual Alo Sanctuary in Roblox.

Some of the digital services that it introduced included curbside pickup, digital concierge services, livestream shopping, and buy online, pickup in store (BOPIS). Dillard’s is an upscale American department store. They have about 280 stores, with its biggest presence in Texas followed by Florida. 17. ASICS

Founded in 1949, ASICS might be an old brand, but they’re continuously adding new features like BNPL payment options to stay relevant. Their philosophy translates to a sound mind in a sound body which sums up their goal for their target audience: to live healthy, happy lives both mentally and physically. Recently, they’ve partnered with Helen Kirkum, a third collaboration in their Crafts For Mind series. Previously, they’ve collaborated with Dennis Buck and KASSL Editions. For the latest collaboration, Kirkum has been tasked with designing a micro collection of custom GEL-1090 sneakers. These sneakers will be sold online by NAKED CPH and all proceeds will be donated.  If you take a look at the ASICS website, you’ll quickly notice that sustainability and giving back are strong driving forces. They, for example, run a number of discount programs for first responders, teachers, and students. All in all, they’re a great example of how brands can focus more on sustainability in all its different forms.

18. Aritzia

Aritzia describes themselves as creators and purveyors of everyday luxury. On their website, you’ll find an impressive portfolio of exclusive brands. Not only are they offering payment solutions like Afterpay to attract the attention of younger shoppers, but they’ve also turned to TikTok where they’ve gone viral, specifically for their Wilfred Melina Pants.

19. ShopGoodwill

ShopGoodwill is the first eCommerce auction site that’s created, owned, and operated by a non-profit organization. Depending on the seller, you might be able to use Afterpay. Though, probably the most important thing to know about shopping via their site is that when you make a purchase, you’ll be changing lives. That’s probably the best incentive any customer can get.

20. David Jones

David Jones is another Australian-based business that’s made our list. It opened its first doors in the late 1830s and is the oldest continuously operating department store in the world that still trades under its original name. Talk about successful branding. Whether you need something for the wardrobe or the home, it offers a wide range of high-quality products across global brands that include Hugo Boss, Jimmy Choo, and Gucci.  If you want to pay using Afterpay, you can do so for orders valued up to $3,000.
