Amy Duggar King, better known on 19 Kids and Counting and Counting On as the cousin of the Duggar children, is a new mom. Amy and her husband, Dillon King, have welcomed their first child together - Daxton Ryan King.
Amy Duggar, the niece of 19 Kids and Counting’s patriarch Jim Bob Duggar, was often spotted on the show with all of her cousins. The vivacious cousin was often seen in the background of the show. She married Dillon King back in 2015 and on Easter of this year, Amy and Dillon announced that they were expecting their first baby. Amy has always been a bit of a wild one and has strayed from the strict rules normally associated with the Duggar family. Recently, she told fans that she’d be open to raising her son gender-fluid, which came to a shock to a lot of fans. The 32-year-old new mom is over the moon with the birth of her first child.
Amy and Dillon welcomed their son, Daxton Ryan King, via C-section on Wednesday, October 9th. According to People, Dax was born weighing 7 lbs., 8 oz., and measured 20 inches. Amy had posted just before the delivery that she was told by her doctor that due to her small frame there would have been an 85% chance at an emergency delivery. Amy and Dillion then decided that they would schedule a cesarean delivery to be on the safe side. According to the couple’s photographer, Loren Bullard, who was there capturing the delivery said that Amy and the baby are doing great. Loren said, it was a “smooth and easy delivery” and said that “both mom and baby are great and healthy.” The Counting On star posted her first family picture with Dax on her Instagram where she shows off her bundle of joy for the first time - see the adorable photo below:
In the Instagram post, the caption reads, “He’s absolute perfection!!!” The new mom is laying in the hospital bed covered in a blanket with the quote, “God gave us you,” as she looks lovingly in her husband’s eyes. She cradles Dax in her arms as he’s wrapped in an emerald green blanket with a hat to match. The proud parents have been hugely prepared for the moment their son arrived, even having the name picked out since early July.
The new parents will be settling into life with their newborn son, there will be plenty of visitors filing in to look at the new Duggar baby. So far, Jill Duggar, a certified midwife, has been one of the first of the Duggar family visitors. Amy, who has waited a long time to finally start her family, is over the moon excited with her new baby and becoming a mother for the first time. Fans can hope to see baby Dax grow up on Counting On.
