The multiverse is coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and with is some powerful Marvel characters. While the MCU teased it in Spider-Man: Far From Home, it turned out to be a misdirection, and the movie just teased fans with something that didn’t end up happening. That all changed with Loki, and now the multiverse is real and threatens the Marvel Universe.

It just takes one quick look at the comics to see how dangerous the multiverse is for the world in general. On top of the dangers of these alternate Earths, many of which are post-apocalyptic wastelands, there are extremely powerful heroes and villains living there, many more powerful than heroes on the mainstream Earth.

With that in mind, there are plenty of multiverse characters that could slide their way into the MCU and make life very hard for the heroes of the Earth - and the galaxy itself. When it comes to the comics, there are not only variant characters in the multiverse, but unique entities that are the strongest Marvel characters, more than anything the MCU has ever witnessed.

Nighthawk – Earth-TRN852

Nighthawk became one of the most dangerous multiverse characters in Marvel Comics over the last couple of years. He came from Earth-TRN852, which was the Heroes Reborn world that Mephisto created for a resurrected and evil Agent Coulson. While Hyperion was the most powerful character from that world, Nighthawk has been more resilient.

While Hyperion is a version of Superman, Nighthawk is a version of Batman and his brains, planning, and cunning made him someone that had the power to revert the world back to what he remembered from before. Luckily, while that made him one of the most powerful Marvel characters, he is also highly intelligent and it seems the only way to stop him was to convince him he was wrong.

Miles Morales – Earth-1610

It might not seem like he is, but Miles Morales is one of the most powerful Marvel characters to come from the Ultimate Marvel Universe, Earth-1610. He joined the Marvel Universe when the two Earth’s collided, and he works with this world’s Spider-Man as well as with the super team, The Champions.

Comic book fans know that Miles Morales is more powerful than Peter Parker. He has the same basic powers, but with upgrades of his Venom Blasts, which Peter can’t do. He has also been shown to have the resilience to pain and a drive to never stop fighting, making him one of Earth’s most powerful young heroes.

Morlun – Earth-001

Morlun is considered one of the strongest Marvel characters in the multiverse. His home was Earth-001 and his family survived for eons as long as they consumed the various avatars of animal totems. In the comics, this was mostly seen when Morlun and his siblings in the Inheritors began slaughtering Spider-heroes from across the multiverse.

Morlun has almost unlimited power, but there are obvious limits. When he does not feed for a while, he grows weaker. Spider-Man from Earth-616 has beaten Morlun more than once and at another time, Spider-heroes from different Earths teamed up to beat not only Morlun but also his family.

Weapon Omega (Wolverine) – Earth-295

Weapon Omega is the Wolverine from Earth-295, which is also known as the Age of Apocalypse. Originally, the main villain here was Apocalypse, the brought Earth to its knees and created a world where mutants who did not side with him battled to try to save humans who hated them.

After Apocalypse died, a new force rose up and took his place, and tragically it was Wolverine as Weapon Omega. This Logan sacrificed himself to the Celestials to save humanity and when he returned, his mind was broken to the point of serving as heir to Apocalypse and trying to destroy humanity. His power is similar to this world’s Wolverine, including his weakness for Jean Grey.

Bishop – Earth-1191

Bishop is a long-standing member of the X-Men, but before he joined the team, he was a traveler from another Earth. Bishop was from an Earth where, 80 years in the future, the mutant messiah Hope Summers, slaughtered a million humans and all mutants ended up gathered up in internment camps.

Bishop traveled to the past to kill Hope Summers but found that the X-Men would do anything to save her. He ended up giving up his mission, and stuck on the mainstream Earth, joined the X-Men. He is a more powerful Marvel character than Wolverine thanks to his power to absorb energy and use it with any weapon he brandishes.

Kang – Earth-6311

MCU fans are about to learn what Kang the Conqueror is all about. He Who Remains from Loki is rumored to be a version of Kang, and the character should also return in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. There are several versions of Kang in the comics, including a teenage version that joined the Young Avengers.

However, the most powerful version was the Kang from Earth-6311. He was a man who conquered Earth and ruled in the future. However, he wanted to ensure that he would always remain in this role. Using one of his strongest comic powers, Kang traveled through time to the past, with tech from the future, to attempt to conquer all Earths. The Avengers, as a team, could rarely beat him, and only slowed him down easily making him one of the most powerful Marvel characters.

Emperor Doom – Earth-15513

Emporer Doom did something no one else did. He conquered the entire world and became its God. This happened after an event called The Incursion, in which all the Earths in the multiverse converged and destroyed each other. The last two, Earth-616 and Earth-1610 collided in a Marvel multiversal war and all of humanity died.

There was a moment when a new world formed, Earth-15513. The heroes and villains of Earth were here in different forms. Doctor Doom was the Emporer in charge, with Doctor Strange and Susan Storm as his right hand. He had the power to warp reality, making him one of Marvel’s most powerful characters.

Rachel Summers – Earth-811

Hope Summers was considered the Mutant Messiah and killed millions. However, when it comes to pure power, it is a different Summers that holds that position. Rachel Summers is from Earth=811, the “Days of Future Past” Earth. This was the Earth where the Sentinels hunted down all mutants and also destroyed humans.

Rachel was the daughter of Scott Summers and Jean Grey on that Earth and was more powerful than most heroes thanks to the genetics of her parents. When the Pheonix Force bonded with her, she became almost unstoppable, with telepathy, telekinesis, time manipulation, and the Phoenix Force.

X-Man – Earth-295

Nathaniel Grey came from the Age of Apocalypse, and he shared a trait with Rachel Summers. He was also connected to Scott Summers and Jean Grey, but he was not a blood son. Instead, Mister Sinister created Nate as a clone with the genetic material from Scott and Jean.

As a clone, he became a powerful hero with almost unlimited powers at times. He aged to maturity quickly and gained a strong mentor in Forge. He was created to be the Earth’s most powerful mutant and was the most powerful psionic in history. He also had telepathy and telekinesis and could warp reality, overpowered and one of the strongest Marvel characters.

Maestro – Earth-9200

Maestro is one of Marvel’s most powerful versions of Hulk, one that survived a nuclear apocalypse. In this storyline, Earth was destroyed in a nuclear war, and M.O.D.O.K. captured Hulk and placed him in suspended animation where he dreamed he lived a perfect life. When he came to, he saw what happened and decided to take over as the new ruler of Earth.

He killed Hercules to take this spot. He also killed the members of The Pantheon and anyone else who got in his way. There was no one who could stop him, and it ended up being Hulk from Earth-616 who tricked him by sending him back in time to the original Gamma bomb testing site during the explosion to stop him.

Shuma-Gorath – The Multiverse

The MCU teased Shuma-Gorath in the What If…? Disney+ streaming series. When Captain Carter was fighting aliens after going through a multiverse portal, she chopped off tentacles that could only have been from Shuma-Gorath. Now, it appears the creature will return in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

In the comics, Shuma-Gorath is unique because there are no variant versions and just one that lives in the entirety of the multiverse. The creature is also seemingly omnipotent and is incapable of dying, considered the greatest of the Old Ones. Shuma-Gorath is also deemed powerful enough to destroy entire galaxies in an instant.

Adam Warlock – Earth-19141

Adam Warlock was also teased in the MCU when a cocoon appeared in the post-credit scene of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. In the regular Marvel Universe of Earth-616, Adam is already very powerful. In the comics, it was Adam that helped beat Thanos in Infinity War showing his true might. The Earth-19141 version was even more powerful.

In that world, he took on the role of the Living Tribunal, which is considered one of the most powerful beings in all of existence. As the open true being tasked with keeping order in the universe, this made Adam one of the most powerful Marvel characters in all of existence. All that kept him from being the most powerful Marvel character was his own humanity.

Black Winter – The Multiverse

Black Winter showed up in the comic book Thor and he was so powerful that he had Galactus running scared. In the story, Galactus sought out Thor and said that Black Winter planned to destroy all the universe and he needed help beating him. However, the truth was that Black Winter only wanted Galactus. Thor had to kill Galactus and use his power to stop the villain.

It turned out that Black Winter was not from a specific timeline but was one with the multiverse itself, and actually predated the creation of this universe. His power is mostly destroying anything it touches instantly, but as Thor showed, he could be at least deterred.

Hyperion – Earth-TRN852

Hyperion has been a hero for a long time, as Marvel created him as its answer to Superman in the Squadron Supreme, its version of the Justice League. However, things changed in 2020 when Mephisto helped Phil Coulson recreate the Marvel Universe and create Earth-TRNB52 in Heroes Reborn.

As a form of Superman, Hyperion was already one of the most powerful Marvel cosmic characters. In this world, Gladiator and the Shi’ar trained him. He ended up forming the Squadron Supreme on Earth and defeated every villain on the planet, including killing Galactus and Hulk. He was extremely overpowered as one of the strongest Marvel characters.

Korvac – Earth-691

The most powerful character from the Marvel multiverse is Korvac. Michael Korvac was born on Earth-691 as a computer technician. When an alien race tried to attack Earth, he betrayed the planet and helped them destroy the human race. He kept working for them, but they tortured him and turned him into a cyborg as punishment, but this made him powerful enough to kill his tormenters.

After stealing power from the Grandmaster, he gained more power and ended up traveling to Earth-616. Here, he proved to be one of the most powerful beings in all existence. He acquired the Power Cosmic and had the ability to alter matter and destroy entire universes. He even killed The Avengers before bringing them back to life. No one could beat him, and he only lost when he gave up his goals.
