It seems like our bizarre obsession with doppelgängers or lookalikes is in no danger of subsiding any time soon. It’s a spooky but rather satisfying thing to know that there could be someone out there who looks in the mirror and sees the same reflection as you do. Yes, it’s incredibly narcissistic, too.

In case you haven’t discovered it yet, there’s even an app that allows you to find your fine-art duplicate. Needless to say, people absolutely love it.

It’s highly improbable you’ll ever find an exact replica of yourself (who isn’t a family member), but that hasn’t stopped people from trying. The same goes for those of us who enjoy spotting the odd celeb double here and there, whether it’s another celebrity or just an ordinary someone walking down the street with their shopping bags.

Our fascination with human replicas continues, as sci-fi shows like Altered Carbon prove there is something unsavoury yet weirdly tempting about having a literal copy of yourself, just in case, you know, something happens to the original.

However, now it’s time to have a glimpse at some of the craziest celebrity lookalikes you will ever feast your curious eyes on with the 15 Celebrities Who Look Exactly Like Twins.

15. Linda Cardellini and Janeane Garofalo

Linda Cardellini found stardom whilst appearing in the high school series about misfits, Freaks and Geeks. Despite the show’s outstanding reception, it was cancelled after just one season due to its unpopular TV time-slot.

Over time, the show gained huge love from teens and adults alike and marked a turning point for the quality of writing in television. Nowadays, Cardellini continues to work in movies and television, and was recently given significant roles in shows Madmen and Bloodline.

Cardellini’s lookalike, 90s star Janeane Garofalo, tends to avoid dramatic flicks because she prefers comedic scripts that allow her to play quirky multi-faceted characters.

Although Garofalo is roughly eleven years older than Cardellini, we can’t help but notice the striking resemblance between the two actresses, with their dark wavy hair and sharp cheek bones. They are both of Irish and Italian descent, so this might have something to do with it.

14. Jesse Plemons and Matt Damon

Matt Damon has been acting for many years now. After gaining stardom with his lead role in Good Will Hunting (which he also co-wrote with his close friend, Ben Affleck), Damon was selected to play a wide range of characters from the obsessive Tom Ripley in The Talented Mr Ripley, to the stranded astronaut Mark Watney in The Martian.

Despite Damon being almost two decades older than Plemons, the actors could easily be related and what’s more, their careers seem to be following a similar trajectory with both deviating from typical Hollywood roles.

Also, they’re both especially good at playing “the creepy guy” (just watch Black Mirror episode USS Callister and new Suburbicon if you don’t believe us).

Whilst Plemons has been appearing in movies since the early ’00s, he didn’t get properly noticed until his performance in Netflix show Fargo.

13. Logan Marshall-Green and Tom Hardy

Logan Marshall-Green hasn’t been able to conquer Hollywood in the same way that Tom Hardy has, yet he is slowly but surely making a name for himself. After starting out in shows 24 and The OC, he appeared in horror flick The Invitation and was also cast in the yet to be released sci-fi thriller, Upgrade.

Contrastingly, Tom Hardy is at the peak of his career and is likely to win an Oscar very soon. In fact, it’s rather surprising he hasn’t done so already. The actor has a long list of accomplishments, which includes The Drop, Mad Max: Fury Road and The Revenant.

Additionally, he will be appearing as Eddie Brock in the new Marvel flick, Venom.

Although Logan Marshall Green looks less like the Mad Max actor without a beard, when he’s got one on the go, they are basically the same guy.

12. Katy Perry and Francesca Brown

After becoming an instant star with her song “I Kissed a Girl”, Katy Perry claimed her spot as one of the ruling queens in pop music when she continued to produce chart toppers like “Firework”, “Teenage Dream” and “California Gurls”.

Her actress twin, Francesca Brown (who is just one year older than Perry), is still trying to find her place in the movie industry and has admitted, during an interview for Elle in 2015, that her appearance has been a cause for concern when attempting to get movie offers.

She also said that in order to pay the bills, she ended up becoming a Katy Perry lookalike performer, but that she still wants to fulfil her dreams of becoming an accomplished actress. Her best role to date is that of a mermaid in the short film, Fish!

11. Keira Knightley and Daisy Ridley

Keira Knightley and Daisy Ridley have more in common than just their looks and mannerisms (if it wasn’t for their eyes and eyebrows, they’d be indistinguishable). As well as being from England, both actresses also started their assent to stardom on the sets of different Star Wars movies.

When Knightley was still a relatively unknown actress, she was booked to play (somewhat ironically given the nature of this list) Queen Amidala’s doppelgänger in Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace.

While this wasn’t Knightley’s break-out role, it was her first time appearing in a major Hollywood movie. Similarly, Ridley’s first ever big-budget film appearance was in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Furthermore, like Ridley’s immediate success from playing Rey in SW, Knightley became famous over night with her role in another popular Disney franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean.

10. John Boyega and Denzel Washington

At first glance, these two won’t strike you as doppelgängers, however, the more you look, the more they become one person, and it’s freaky.

The two have insanely similar acting facial expressions including that “locked jaw” thing that Denzel’s been doing since his early performances. What’s more, both actors grew up in big cities; while Boyega is a born and bred Londoner, Washington was raised in New York.

Boyega gained international fame at twenty three years old after hitting the big screens as Finn in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and the actor will not be slowing down any time soon; his current projects include Pacific Rim Uprising and Watership Down (for which he will be doing the voice-over for Bigwig).

In 2017, his sixty three year old double, Denzel Washington, was nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in Fences and has just completed filming the long-awaited sequel, Equalizer 2.

9. Christopher Abbott and Kit Harington

If you watched the dark Netflix show The Sinners and initially thought that Jessica Biel’s husband was none other than the Warden of the North himself, then we don’t blame you, not one bit. The two actors look eerily alike and even the way they act has the same moody quality about it.

Although Christopher Abbott isn’t as famous as Kit Harington (for obvious reasons), his effortless style of acting is starting to get him some well-deserved recognition. Harington, on the other hand, is mostly known for one role: Jon Snow in Game of Thrones.

So, once the series reaches its finale, it will be interesting to see whether he decides to expand his repertoire a little. Either way, he’ll always be Jon Snow to us.

8. Jennifer Lawrence and Bella Hadid

Okay, so with this blue-eyed pair, you might need to take a closer look, but we assure you that these women have a scary amount of similarities. Bella Hadid would not look amiss sporting a bow and arrow and Jennifer Lawrence wouldn’t look out of place walking down a fashion-show catwalk either.

While Jennifer Lawrence opted for a career in movies, Bella Hadid’s passion lies with modelling. Despite being in their twenties, Lawrence and Hadid are at the height of their careers with Lawrence being up there with the highest paid actresses in the world and Hadid being one of the most sought-after models of her generation.

Although Hadid has expressed some interest in pursuing acting in the future, she has yet to star in anything other than commercials.

7. Justin Bieber and Paul Wesley

Oh, Justin Bieber– you either love him or hate him. The now not-so-young singer’s dreams came true when he was spotted on You Tube by a talent scout (he was signed to Usher’s record label not long after).

He rapidly went on to become the biggest teen pop star in the world and today it’s almost impossible to remember a time when Bieber wasn’t dominating the charts.

Bieber’s doppelgänger, Paul Wesley, is eleven years older, yet still manages to confuse people with his heavy brows and dark blonde hair which closely resemble the Canadian singer’s.

Other than that, the two celebs don’t have that much in common, unless you count the fact that they have an enviably large female fanbase. You’ve probably spotted Wesley playing the broody Stefan Salvatore on the popular young adult show, The Vampire Diaries.

6. Charlie Hunnam and Travis Fimmel

In the late ’90s, English actor Charlie Hunnam was selected to play a fifteen year old teen coming to terms with his homosexuality in the British show, Queer as Folk.

After moving to the US, Hunnam was given a minor role in the WB series Young Americans (which was a rather peculiar Dawson’s Creek spin-off concerning Pacey and Dawson’s childhood friend). However, nowadays, Hunnam is most famous for his protagonist role in the FX show, Sons of Anarchy.

His Australian lookalike, actor Travis Fimmel, sports the same facial hair in his own series, Vikings, as Hunnam does in Sons of Anarchy. When Vikings first hit the screens, many people confused Ragnar Lothbrok (Fimmel’s character) for Hunnam – before a quick Google search, that is.

One thing’s for sure, these two know how to work the long hair look.

5. Ana de la Reguera and Paz Vega

This might seem like a bit of a cop out, considering the fact that both women are two of the most famous Spanish speaking actresses in the industry, but you can’t deny that they possess more than a few of the same physical attributes, including face shape, thick eyebrows, and dark almond eyes.

Ana de la Reguera is a Mexican actress who, after starring in telenovelas, took on several American scripts to inflate her notability. Internationally, she is best known for her roles in comedy flick Nacho Libre and the second series of Eastbound & Down.

Her lookalike Paz Vega is from Spain (although she did play a Mexican woman in James L. Brooks’s film Spanglish) and first got noticed after playing Lucía in the beloved Spanish movie, Lucía y el Sexo.

4. Jennifer Love Hewitt and Lacey Chabert

Jennifer Love Hewitt found stardom in both rom-coms and horrors. In 1997, she became an iconic teen-horror protagonist after starring in I know What You Did Last Summer and its sequel, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, which was released the following year.

Shortly after, the actress returned to television and appeared in the popular series about a parentless family, Party of Five, along with her younger clone Lacey Chabert.

The show lasted 6 seasons and was the catalyst behind Chabert’s early fame (she was 11 when filming commenced). Later, Chabert was hired to do the voice-over for Eliza Thornberry in the animated series The Wild Thornberrys, as well as play one of Regina George’s sidekicks in the legendary teen flick, Mean Girls.

3. Will Ferrell and Chad Smith

It’s a running joke that Red Hot Chilli Peppers drummer Chad Smith bears a striking resemblance to the Step Brothers star, Will Ferrell. In 2014, the two celebs even rocked up to Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show sporting identical outfits.

The musician and the actor proceeded to battle it out on the drums (and you can guess who won that one). Evidently, after being compared to one another on a regular basis, the two had no choice but to be friends and embrace the fact that they looked like twins.

Smith joined rock band Red Hot Chilli Peppers in 1988, and to this day, the group continue to be well-loved and respected within the music industry. His actor doppelgänger, Will Ferrell, mostly knows how to do comedy, but like Chad, he has some pretty good drumming skills.

2. Helen Hunt and Jodie Foster

Helen Hunt appeared in movies from a very early age and in her late twenties, had a lengthy run (seven years to be exact) on the much-loved sitcom Mad About You.

Throughout her career, Hunt has been confused with the Taxi Driver actress on numerous occasions. There’s even one scene in Mad About You where Paul Reiser’s character jokes about her being identical to Jodie Foster.

However, Hunt prefers to take it on the chin. In 2016, she even tweeted about being handed a Starbucks cup with the wrong name on it: “Ordered my drink @Starbucks Asked the barista if she wanted my name. She winked and said. “We gotcha” #JodieFoster.”

What makes this funnier is that the barista even got Jodie Foster’s name mixed up and spelt it as “Jody.”

1. Sarah Wright and Alice Eve

If you’ve ever confused Sarah Wright with Alice Eve, or vice versa, then we’re totally with you on that one. Although Kentucky born Sarah Wright has mostly taken on minor television roles due to her modelling career, she was recently given a major part in action movie American Made (in which she played Barry Seale’s wife and love interest, Deborah Seal).

Alice Eve is around the same age as Wright, but having focused her time on acting early on, has a broader catalogue of movie roles, some of which are Carol Marcus in Star Trek: Into Darkness and Honey in Bees Make Honey.

It’s not just their wavy blonde locks that make these two look like genetically-blessed sisters; their bone structures are eerily similar and they even have the same smile (they clearly have access to amazing dental care).
